I am constantly amazed at our city’s ability to take great ideas and ruin them by trying to make them happen through the government. Considering Rochester’s track record, everyone should be up in arms at the thought of letting the city have another go. Why must the Culver Road Armory be sold to the City of Rochester? And why must there be restrictions on how it can be used? Please politicians, let the FREE MARKET decide how this building should be used. It makes no sense whatsoever to have the City acquire this building, only to then hold public forums …

Below is an article that appears in today’s Democrat and Chronicle. I want people to think about this for a second. Why should Albany tell us what our speed limits should or should have been? Shouldn’t this have been a power that was always guaranteed to the local communities?
