Cheers as McCain Supporter Arrested

I didn’t support McCain or Obama, but if this is what we can expect for speaking out against the “President of the World,” then I’m not at all excited for the future of this country.

Who Killed the Constitution? Book Review by Mises

“To be sure, our federal government has perverted beyond recognition the system that the Founding Fathers created. The chief restraint on government officials is merely their sense of what they can get away with. Nonetheless, the Constitution can still serve a purpose, as it remains a useful bludgeon to employ against government power grabs.”

Duffy’s Distain for the Constitution and the Courts

I’ve always been opposed to the curfew in Rochester, primarily on principle. This week I was glad to see that the Appellate Division of state Supreme Court ruled the 2-year old law unconstitutional. Since I still have faith in our country as a free society I could have predicted this ruling, but what did surprise me was our mayor’s reaction.

Obama Supporters Distain Free Speech

“I am now being escorted away by police from the scene because I don’t have a right to free speech,” said Harms, to which the Obama crowd responded with whoops, cries and hollers of “yeeeeahhhh” in celebration of the fact that cops were crushing the first amendment.

Do you think for yourself or do your views conform to those around you?

If you just graduated from high school, you’re already familiar with how little deviation from the ‘group perspective’ is allowed. If you’re just entering college, then you have a great opportunity to start thinking for yourself! In college you’ll be able to seek out others that feel the way you do, persuade others of your beliefs and do heavy-duty research to verify your beliefs. It’s also an opportunity to have an open mind for the first time in your life. You’ll be free to explore ideas, dangerous …

Clearly this is the best way to deal with truthers. Don’t have an intelligent conversation with them. Don’t try to justify why you believe the official story. Just try to fight them physically, tell them to move out of the country, suggest they take “mind-altering drugs”, and suggest that they would love to “suck Osama bin Landen’s dick. Nice! THAT’S the way to be a REAL American.

Watch this powerful video about the demoralization of the troops overseas made by Truthout. These troops know what they are talking about as they applaud Cindy Sheehan for defending the 1st Amendment by using the 1st Amendment. Not one of them is demoralized by anti-war protesters. Instead, they are demoralized by the hardships of active duty. If you’ve never asked a soldier how they feel about the war, then you need to listen to this short clip.

Indeed, for what noble cause?

I feel strongly about the despicable state of our corporate mainstream media and I have found this excellent documentary (the first of a two part series) that talks about the link between increasing consolidation of the media and the diminishing diversity of ideas shared to the general public. Look what these high school students have done so far and ask yourself “Could I be doing more?”

One thing that I do want to point out that I disagree with in the clip is the idea of America being a democracy. We are not a democracy, we are a constitutional republic. A …

Walk in to any job interview, casual gathering or networking event and one of the first questions that will be asked of you is: “What’s your specialty?” I think this is a terrible question. Don’t get me wrong, I think having something you’re really great at is a good thing, but why stop there? Why be satisfied with being a great salesperson and a decent couch potato? To me, a much better question would be “What are some of the things you do best?” which should be followed immediately with “What do you hope to learn how to do soon?” …
