Art Submissions Still Open for ArtAwake 2009
The ArtAwake art and music festival, to be held on March 27th, is still accepting art submissions. Local artists can submit up to five pieces electronically up until March 6th. Head over to artawake.org to submit art and become a part of the fastest growing festival in Rochester.
If you have never participated in a juried gallery show or festival this is your chance to share your work with others. At artawake.org click on the “ArtAwake 2008” tab to see some of the artwork that was accepted last year. All types of media will be considered for this year’s show.
Last year’s event was held at the historic Station 55 and was attended by over 1500 people. This year’s event will be at the former Valeo plant on Lyell Avenue on the West Side of Rochester. In addition to traditional art, sculpture and photography there will be performance pieces, installation artwork, and other forms of experimental or interactive art.
Along with catered food from local eateries there will be Finger Lakes wine which will be available throughout the night. A number of exceptional local bands are scheduled to play and samples of their music can be heard on the website.
All other info such as ticket prices, address and times can be found on the website.
