The Chase Bank on Monroe Avenue was robbed yesterday and nobody has pointed out the obvious. The public surveillance and private security cameras failed to deter this bank robbery. Here is the news brief from the Democrat and Chronicle:
Chase Bank on Monroe robbed
A man robbed a Chase Bank branch on Monroe Avenue Tuesday afternoon. According to Rochester police, the man walked into the branch at 560 Monroe Ave. at 2:37 p.m. and demanded money but displayed no weapon. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.
Police described the suspect as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 150 pounds. He was wearing dark-colored pants with suspenders hanging from the back, a brown hooded sweatshirt with white lettering, brown boots, and a gray knit hat over a dark colored baseball hat with lettering on front.
He was last seen going east on Monroe Avenue.
Well at least they got a good look at him, right?

Bank robberies seem to be getting more common in Rochester these days — it looks like we just had another one in Penfield today as well. I don’t think there were public surveillance cameras at that location, but there were private security cameras.
With the economy worsening we can expect criminals to become more bold, and as we have seen: they don’t seem to be detered by cameras.
As I have stated before, the cameras aren’t for there for criminals, they’re in place to control the population and protect the real criminals that have orchestrated this financial collapse. It’s a story that’s been played out again and again in other countries such as Argentina.

Good point. Cameras are lame.
