Maybe and Maybe. I say maybe because I think most of the issues raised against the government can be explained by ineptness, after all what isn’t the government inept at dealing with? Yet a part of me knows that our government could be entirely capable of something this repugnant. Let’s break it down.
If 9/11 was an inside job we have a huge problem on our hands. But what about everything else? That would mean that we don’t have a problem with terrorists and that our intervention in the rest of the worlds affairs are not of great concern anymore since it wasn’t the terrorists that created 9/11.
But if 9/11 was not an inside job it is much more damning to the US government. First they are inept at preventing attacks by terrorists. Second, the intervention of the government in the affairs of foreign nations is helping to bread hatred of America and to create these terrorists. Third, and this goes for the inside job case as well, the congress and the president have used their ineptness and intervention as an excuse to limit the rights and liberties of Americans.
So maybe it does matter if it was or wasn’t an inside job but don’t let it take your focus away from the real problems. In the one case you have an all powerful government that has become disturbingly sinister. In the other you have an inept government that is completely dysfunctional, instigates terrorists, and is totally misguided.
I’m going to take my chances with the second government here. At least then I have some semblence of hope that things can change. Otherwise, we are all screwed.
I like some of your points, but we need to understand that it DOES matter to know. It’s a matter of trust. I need to know if I’ve been lied to so that I can decide for myself how to continue. If someone murdered one of your loved ones, would it not be important to figure out who did it? Wouldn’t you be scared until you knew who it was for certain?

Has there ever been a government that you can trust? As soon as you turn your back they will do whatever they can get away with. I do understand that people want to know, but is it more important to know or to stop it from happening again. In any event the only way to solve this is to change the government policies and structures that lead to 9/11 and we all know what they are without ever knowing exactly how 9/11 happened.

Agree with the notion that Government is inherently untrustworthy, simply because people in power tend to be corrupted by it.
Thus, the point and purpose of a power-limiting Constitution is made plain. A hard cap on power serves to cap the inevitable corruption that runs parallel to it.
Knowing the absolute truth about 911 (assuming it was even possible to) might serve as a benchmark to free people – telling us exactly how far down the road to tyranny we really are. Beyond that, I don’t know.
