The future of America is now. We need CHANGE. Learn and decide what Obama and McCain each stand for as a person and what their visions are for our country’s future in the next decade. We must stand up and be counted. This is your life and that hangs in the balance. This is an epic election, one of the most important in decades. We must be more engaged with the political process than ever before. We need record breaking voter turnout. Americans can either move forward by growing, prospering, and increasing our self worth or we can fall flat on our faces, continuing to sink deeper into despair. Our time is now. Get out there and make your voices heard, make them count!

How could these cowards dare threaten to fire upon veterans!
Can you imagine how these Iraq Veterans felt to be surrounded and threatened by thugs in black uniforms? These men and women actually served their country overseas, most for multiple tours, and they return home to get treated like this?
These men and women are intellegent and they demand to be heard. They are deeply offended by the things done in their name.
Lest we not forget the same thing happened after the Vietnam War.

Fact is stranger than fiction. Turns out in Utah, if you collect rain water you’re breaking the law. Seriously.
What is the government going to claim they own next? Radio waves? Oh yeah, that’s right - they do.
Perhaps they’ll say they own the fish and the animals. Oh what’s that? Hunting and fishing licenses you say? Wow, you’ve got me there.
Is there anything they don’t claim ownership of?

I’m putting this post under the ‘Fun’ category because it made me laugh when I read the statement from the CFO of the Thruway Authority. Read this short article that appeared in the Democrat and Chronice (and other NYS newspapers) recently:
Traffic drops by 2 million on Thruway; agency forced to cut costs
Joseph Spector • Albany bureau • August 27, 2008
ALBANY — High gasoline prices and a sluggish economy led to nearly 2 million fewer cars and trucks on the state Thruway in June and July compared with the same period in 2007, state records show.
“This …

This video speaks for itself. If you thought the mainstream media was up to something, you’d be right. It really amazes me the comments on YouTube, though, where people try and act like YouTube and Google searches aren’t a good measure of people’s interest in a topic. Oh really? And media air time is? Wow. Kindof interesting that you’re leaving a comment on YouTube and you don’t think it matters…

A Guilty Agent: The Shadowy Role of Timothy McVeigh

Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial - Flickr user: Citron Smurf
What may seem like conspiracy theories surrounding the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, have been given more credibility do to newly released internal defense memos for Timothy James McVeigh, who was convicted and executed for his role as “Mastermind” and “Lone Wolf Bomber.” McVeigh, who was said to have orchestrated the bombing with minimal help from two Army buddies, may not have been what he seemed. A source out of Austin, Texas memorialized in …

Do you think for yourself or do your views conform to those around you?
If you just graduated from high school, you’re already familiar with how little deviation from the ‘group perspective’ is allowed. If you’re just entering college, then you have a great opportunity to start thinking for yourself! In college you’ll be able to seek out others that feel the way you do, persuade others of your beliefs and do heavy-duty research to verify your beliefs. It’s also an opportunity to have an open mind for the first time in your life. You’ll be free to explore ideas, dangerous …

Photographers Protest Police Harassment in Egypt - flickr user: 3arabawy
The War on Photography really seems to be intensifying here in the US but also abroad in countries like Egypt and the UK. Check out this article I found out of the UK that details the trouble photographers can get into - for things that are perfectly legal if done by someone in a badge! As a photographer I feel especially compelled to fight against the myth that terrorists are somehow skilled with fancy cameras and like to take artistic photos of interesting monuments. The idea is simply preposterous as I …
